YOUR PUQE SCORE
What is it?
A recognised and recommended diagnosis
The PUQE score test (Pregnancy Unique Quantification of Emesis) is a simple scoring system that your GP will use to work out how severe your pregnancy sickness really is.
It asks how long you’ve felt nauseous, how often you’ve vomited, and how much you’ve been retching in the last 24 hours, then gives a clear severity score.
It’s much more helpful than relying on ketones, which is an outdated method of diagnosing the severity of pregnancy sickness.
Another option is the HyperEmesis Level Prediction score (HELP), which is used to assess more severe cases like Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
Take control
Forewarned is forearmed
The PUQE score became a recommended tool for GPs in 2024 but sometimes it can take time for guidelines to filter down to GPs.
By taking our PUQE score test you can assess yourself and find out exactly when and where you should be asking for help.
It's super simple and takes less than a minute to complete!
